Francis: EC bishops in diaspora may ordain the married!

Historic news! Eastern Catholic bishops may now ordain married men outside their ancestral homelands (e.g., the United States), without impediment (with a few exceptions), as is their right. A grave injustice has been corrected.

The act was officially promulgated in June (!?), but is only now making its way to the public. In this PDF, the act begins on page 74, by the PDF’s pagination.

The announcement is titled “Pontificia Praecepta de clero Uxorato Orientali.” Here is the original press report, from Sandro Magister, in Italian.
